2022 Favorites

A selection of my favorite images taken in 2022 in my local area and at nearby Missouri locations. What makes them favorites: quality of the image, joy and surprise in capturing an image, and the fun and excitement I had with or at a particular location or species.

Red-tailed Hawk, an intergrade of Eastern Red-tail with Krider's

Gadwall (male)
Two words - understated elegance. The intricate pattern of grey, brown, and black - beautiful. The Gadwall was my 2022 Spot-Light bird that I wanted to attend to getting a sharp, in-focus image. Forest Park, St. Louis, MO.
American Kestrel
I have no idea why this kestrel just sat there while I took photos from the car. Usually, just slow the car down and they fly off. It really was my lucky day!
